Remaining photos II

From Marion/Miska's outing in the bison field, and my visit with the Main Pack. Taken by Monty Sloan (check out: http://www.wolfphotography.com/)

6/28/11--evening

I was disappointed because the wolves were displaying really interesting behaviors tonight, but most of my photos came out blurry or have the fence in the way. Still, they should be fun to look at.

Dharma takes the deer leg when Kailani isn't looking...

Left: Wotan      Right: Kailani

From front to back: Ruedi, Wotan, Kailani

This interaction was a lot of fun to watch: Kailani found out that Dharma took the deer leg, and wanted it back. However, Dharma was unwilling to let go of it, and so began running with it at full speed, with Kailani chasing her. This went on for a few minutes before Kailani finally caught up and attacked her to get it back. It was really entertaining.

Notice Dharma still has a hold on the deer leg

Wolfgang was really keen on asserting dominance tonight, targeting both Ruedi and his brother Wotan (pictured)

My other favorite wolf, Marion--who unfortunately I have few photos of because she hides most of the time. She used to terrorize all the other wolves when she lived in the main pack, but she loves humans. I just find her amusing because her nickname is "Marion the barbarian" but she is the smallest wolf in the park, and always just has really goofy expressions.

Marco, one of the dogs who belongs to the park director, Erich Klinghammer. I took him for a walk around the bison pastures this morning.
